This painting was inspired by the atmospheres of film noir from the 1940s: a
foggy evening descends on the metropolis; dark silhouettes of travelers proceed
absorbed in their path. How many people traverse the same places without ever
meeting? But the immense city can unite the destinies of two strangers: a
chance encounter can change the course of one's history. On the side, I wanted
to pay homage to one of the most representative faces of noir, the famous
Lauren Bacall, who met her future husband Humphrey Bogart on the set of her
first film, "To Have and Have Not" A 25-year age difference did not prevent the
blossoming of one of Hollywood's most enduring loves.
